ahhh sorry I've been away these days; I've been very busy and tired. -o- and I kinda had an art block/depression too.
Today I started doodling Orihime out of boredom and this is the result <3 I'm pretty happy with it~ <3 I know the lighting effects look a bit weird, but...idk I liked it in the end. she somewhat reminds me of the Disney princesses here O: it doesn't look like my style at all ;_; but since I did my best with this picture, I'll request critique~ <3 Orihime (c) Tite Kubo CommentsOH MY GAWD!!SOOOO BEAUTIFULLL!!!
Me gusta como pusiste la luz de la luna sobre Inoue!!:3 -- ZOMG!!!O_o --------> [link] Reminds me of the Disney princesses too
Very nice, I like it -- I'm not gullible. I'm just open-minded. -- If you enter this world knowing you are loved and you leave this world knowing the same, then everything that happens in between can be dealt with. ~ R.I.P ~ -- [link] The lighting seems weird, but I still like it. hahaha, I haven't watched Bleach in so very long. xD

First of all, I still want to say how much I love this and please do not take this personally. The sides of the picture are a problem because I see a lot of blank and empty space that takes away the focus of the main character. It would be splendid if the sides were to be cropped a little bit so there will not be so much unnecessarily blank spaces that people like me would get distracted in looking at and ponder why there is so much space there. Now if you were going to add in some more detail like a hidden inscription, then you will not need to crop. Keep those in mind. If there is nothing in those blank spaces that you would want to show, then CROP AWAY, HECK YEAH. But besides that, I really love the little dust particles that float around the rays of moonlight, which gives a very realistic feel to the piece. I would eat them if I were not allergic to dust.
Also, the shading on Orihime's hair seems to be out of place and does not match the shading that you have for her face. Personally, I would have thought that her bangs would have really dark shading, too. If you think about it, the moonlight, which is beautiful by the way, is only hitting behind of her head, right? Then that means that her bangs should have a much darker shadow as strong as the shading you have on her face. Having her hair be shaded like that would mean that the moonlight is also coming from the very top of her head, and I am not sure if you would want that.
Furthermore, the shading on her dress seems to be somewhat inconsistent. I may not be a master of light sources, but I am not sure if the light on her puffed sleeve should spread that far. It would be best if the white color was not that intense. The same thing applies to her chest and the part of the dress that's on her front side. The shading is accurate, but it would be awesome if it was darkened because in the dark, all of the colors would be darkened and unsaturated. The only sort of strong light that would bounce off the character would be the original colors that you initially gave Orihime, such as the white of her dress.
Another tiny detail is that the solid black colors should be defined a weeee bit more. All solid black objects have some light bouncing off. Such as with her belt and the trimming, there should be a very little light with the solid black as a shadow. Otherwise, the black objects would look out of place when they're all shaded in like that. Oh, and remember, reflecting light is awesome, too. Not only is there a main source of light shining onto a character, but the surrounding objects can give a sort of light, too. It may sound confusing because I suck at grammar and vocabulary, but there should be a color like the walls touching some parts of a character, so their shapes can be refined more and not hidden in the darkness to the point that they seem to be blended together. Take her hand, for example. I can barely see it, but if you can give it some sort of a very dim highlight of a color that's similar to the walls, then her hand can become more visible. But make sure to not make the color too saturated or else it'll look like that she's at a raving party. And as much fun as that sounds, I don't think you want that, haha.
Ah, please forgive me if any of my words sound really harsh! I tend to go overboard, so you gotta let me know, ok? 8D But I seriously am in love with this piece. It's such a nice transition from the other works that you have posted up before. I swear, working on dark pieces is such a fun experience, isn't it? It's hard, but that is why we practice. And you did great on this so far. The shading is something that I will ever gaze upon in fascination and your painting methods will never cease to delightfully astound me. And gosh, her eyes ARE ABSOLUTE LOVE.
Overall, I really liked this. I AM QUITE SERIOUS. Something that just transformed from a doodle, I am very impressed. GIVE ME YOUR SKILLS TO TRANSFORM DOODLES INTO WORKS OF ART, ARGH. <3333
